Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar local storage that Adventurometer uses.Adventurometer is operated by Fieldcraft Creative Ltd, trading as In a Tavern. For background on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar mechanism that keeps small pieces of data in your browser. We use both sparingly, and only for the purposes below.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the service to work. They cannot be switched off.
- Session cookie: a secure cookie that keeps you signed in after you log in.
- Sign-in protection: a token used to protect the sign-in process against cross-site request forgery.
Functional (local storage)
Small pieces of state we keep in your browser to make the app behave sensibly.
- Whether you have dismissed one-time tips and prompts, so we do not show them again.
- Interface preferences, such as your chosen game master voice.
Analytics (first-party)
We measure how the product is used so we can improve it. We store a single random anonymous identifier in your browser and record product events such as page views and free-trial progress against it. This is first-party only. We do not use third-party advertising, cross-site tracking, or marketing cookies, and we do not sell your data.
Payments
When you subscribe, our payment provider (Stripe) may set its own cookies on its checkout to process the payment securely and to help prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe’s own privacy and cookie notices.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent you from playing. Clearing the analytics identifier simply resets it; it holds no personal information.
Changes
We will update this policy if the cookies we use change, and we will update the date above.
